Step 1, wrapping everything up in plastic. Step 2, poster board, then chicken wire. Step 3, spray foam in place (seven cans). Step 4, shaping the foam.
Step 5, applying plaster. Board underneath is holding plaster in place until it sets. Step 6, shaping plaster. Everything looks great! More photos to come. Step 7, Some Bondo work to pull it all together. Step 7b, Profile view of the Bondo work. More photos to come. Almost ready for fiberglass work.
The Profile View. Waxed, Scribed, masked, and parting film applied. Epoxy surface coat applied. Fiber glass layup. The lower mold removed from the "positive." The glass is still a little soft so it looks a little spread out.
The completed mold top and bottom with reinforcing installed. Cowl has been pre-fitted to fuselage, now getting ready to glass the mating flange on lower cowl Note flange Cowl in place, just add fasteners To the right, the #1 reason a 701 is ugly.
